'The Lost Birds' Live From London

Critically acclaimed vocal ensemble VOCES8 will give the virtual premiere of Christopher's latest work, The Lost Birds as part of their ongoing virtual concert project 'Live From London'. "Crazy Creative Asians" Panel

Christopher will take part in the inaugural Film Speaker & Screener Series event from the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles. The event will feature top AAPI talent from across the film industry, including Kelly Hu, Andy Cheng, Leo Chu, Alexa Khan, and Trevor Morgan Doyle, moderated by Nicholas Lam. "Flocks A Mile Wide" Released

Christopher has released a second single, "Flocks A Mile Wide", from his upcoming album The Lost Birds. This instrumental overture is meant to evoke the magnificent spectacle of huge flocks of birds flying overhead. The single is available for listening here.

'The Lost Birds' Premiere at Stanford

Christopher's newest work, 'The Lost Birds', will be premiered at Stanford University's Bing Concert Hall on Saturday, February 25th, 2023. The performance will feature VOCES8 accompanied by a chamber ensemble. Tickets are available here.

To Shiver The Sky Premiere

World Premiere of 'To Shiver The Sky'

Christopher's sweeping oratorio 'To Shiver The Sky' was given its world premiere in Washington DC by The United States Air Force Band, Choral Arts Society of Washington, and ModernMedieval. The multimedia concert was presented by Washington Performing Arts at DC's newest waterfront venue The Anthem, with three screens of synchronized videos. A film version of the concert is under development.

VOCES8 Performs Christopher Tin on Tour

VOCES8 is currently on tour, and as part of their holiday programming, are performing two works by Christopher on select dates, ‘Hope Is The Thing With Feathers’, and his new Christmas carol, ‘I Heard The Bells’. See their full touring schedule here.

Old World (Original Video Game Soundtrack)

Christopher's score to Mohawk Games' latest release 'Old World' has been released by Decca Records US/Universal Music, and is now available on all streaming platforms. The soundtrack features more than an hour of Arabic-inspired music, and includes the show-stopping new title song "I Lift Me Eyes", performed by Lebanese star Abeer Nehme. Splitgate, the Halo-meet-Portal FPS by indie developer 1047 Games, has been ported to consoles and Steam, and is currently one of the hottest games of the summer. Christopher composed the main theme in collaboration with his frequent collaborators, tyDi and Alex Williamson. The extended version can be heard on YouTube and Twitch.

The Anthem

To Shiver the Sky World Premiere

The world premiere of 'To Shiver the Sky' at Washington DC's newest concert venue The Anthem has officially been rescheduled. Christopher will be conducting the US Air Force Band and Choral Arts Society of Washington, with additional soloists to be announced. The Orchestral Sessions Vol. 1

Christopher puts a lot of care and detail into his orchestrations, which often goes unnoticed because of the strong vocal performances. So to put the spotlight on his orchestral writing, his label Universal/DeccaGold has released 'The Orchestral Sessions Vol. 1': a three-song EP of select movements from 'To Shiver the Sky', but with the vocals removed to allow the orchestrations to take the spotlight. Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

Enter the Funk Dragon

Christopher composed the music for AMC Theaters' Asian Pacific American Heritage Month PSA, running in AMC movie theatres throughout the month of May. It was his second collaboration with director Jon M. Chu, whom he had worked with on the Warner Brothers movie 'Crazy Rich Asians'. His piece, "Enter the Funk Dragon", is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the history of martial arts in cinema: from Bruce Lee to Karate Kid. Check out the visualizer here. Christopher completed a second Kickstarter campaign to fund his next album, 'The Lost Birds'. The campaign reached $225,472, which once again broke the record for highest funded classical music Kickstarter campaigns; a record which was previously held by his last album, 'To Shiver the Sky'. Nocturne

Christopher has released a new solo piano piece, "Nocturne", in collaboration with fellow DeccaGold artist Wei Luo. The track is inspired by Eliza Acton's poem "I Love Thee", and is a celebration of the sensations of night: the smell of jasmine, the lonely call of a songbird. Sogno Challenge

Christopher, along with the Stay-at-Home Choir, has announced the #SognoChallenge: a fun, social media challenge where musicians are invited to reharmonize his anthem to Civilization VI, "Sogno di Volare". Simply take Christopher's theme and change the harmonies, then post your new rendition to social media with the hashtag #SognoChallenge. The Expo 2017 Astana runs from June 10 until September 10, 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Christopher has been appointed Honorary President of the newly launched International Choral Festival Wales, an Eistedfodd-style choral festival in Cardiff, Wales. He shares the honor with Welsh composers Karl Jenkins and Paul Mealor, as well as soprano Elin Manahan-Thomas, whom he shared a stage with at the Llangollen International Musical Eistedfodd.

Christopher headlined the third night of the 70th Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod festival in Llangollen, Wales. Conducting the Welsh National Opera Orchestra and featuring a roster of international soloists and choirs, Christopher performed Calling All Dawns, Sogno di Volare, and Passou o Verao to an audience of 1500. The Shropshire Star wrote "Christopher Tin was the star of the show..." and that Baba Yetu prompted "riotous applause and a standing ovation from the audience both after the show and its encore."

Christopher was invited to a special reception in recognition of United Nations Refugee Day, which included the premiere of a brand new piano quintet arrangement of Baba Yetu by the United Nations Chamber Music Society. In attendance were various UN staff, diplomats, and VIPs, including the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterrez, Director Ninette Kelly of the Refugee Agency, Ahmed M. Badr, and Ben Stiller.

"Adain Cân" Television Premiere

Christopher premiered a new piece, entitled "Adain Cân (Songflight), on the season finale of Côr Cymru, the Welsh TV choral singing competition. Performed on live TV, Christopher conducted the five finalist choirs at the beginning of the episode. Adain Cân translates as "Songflight", and the song is sung in Welsh, English, German and Spanish, with new lyrics by Welsh poet Mererid Hopwood. Visit S4C's website to catch up on performances. Christopher had a new commissioned piece premiered at the International Schools Choral Music Society's 10th Anniversary Festival at the Forbidden City Concert Hall, Beijing. Entitled "Silver Wing", it's a choral setting of the Emily Dickinson poem "A Bird Came Down the Walk" with a lively orchestral accompaniment, and includes one of Christopher's favorite passages he's ever written.

Christopher Tin is a guest judge on the current season of the popular Welsh TV show 'Côr Cymru' ("Choir of Wales"), the singing competition for amateur choirs. Christopher will join two other international judges, Maria Guinand and Edward Higgenbottom, to help find the best amateur singing talent in Wales.

Christopher Tin will be headlining the third night of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales, on July 5th, 2017, conducting the Welsh National Opera Orchestra. The concert will feature Welsh soprano Elin Manahan Thomas and a roster of other international soloists to be announced.

The concert will feature a first half of well-known classical works and a few video game themes, and a second half performance of Calling All Dawns in its entirety. Tickets are available on our Concerts page.
